www.thetelegram.com/News/Local/2013-04-01/article-3211249/Clowe-being-dealt-to-the-Flyers%2C-sources-say/1San Jose Sharks forward Ryane Clowe could be a Philadelphia Flyer by the end of the day Monday, sources say. Clowe, 30, is in the final year of a deal that pays him a pro-rated $3.625 million this season. He is due to become an unrestricted free agent in July. Media reports have indicated the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers have expressed interest in Clowe, but sources say the Flyers have jumped in the mix and a deal sending the big winger to Philadelphia is all but done. The Fermeuse-born, Mount Pearl-raised Clowe and the Flyers have already worked out a new multi-year contract, another source said. Clowe broke in with the Sharks in 2005-06, and has 423 career NHL games under his belt. Twice he has hit the 20-goal mark, and finished with 19 in 2009-10. He has 567 career NHL penalty minutes.

No word on whos in the deal I was thinking maybe a Dman would be comming with him? I like Clowe but why not just wait til offseason? We are going to screw ourselves out of a top 3 pick now.

This makes no sense to me. Has average offensive numbers. His highest goal total was 24 goals. We have the same player in Simmonds, except Simmonds is younger. We need defense.

I like depending on the deal. Stick him on the 3rd line...gives us a big physical winger on the top 3.

or something like that.

I would only deal for him if it's someone like McGinn. I cannot see Homer trading Read for Clowe. Is there any word on who maybe dealt to get him?

yep, went to NY for 2 2nd. round picks and a 3rd. a lot to pay a guy with zero goals in 28 games played. would of looked nice on the 3rd. line here but not worth that cost
