At this stage, with 19 games remaining, I am not unhappy with Flyers' losses. Finish at the bottom of the league standings, and get a top Draft pick: 1. SETH JONES - D - PORTLAND WINTERHAWKS (WHL) - 6-4, 206 - PREVIOUS RANK: 1
Jones has been finding himself at No. 1 on more rankings, and it's not a real surprise. With size, mobility, elite defensive skills and sound offensive capabilities, he looks like he could jump into an NHL lineup quickly. His biggest asset, however, is his hockey sense, which is at an elite level. A Western Conference scout called Jones the clear No. 1 choice. | 2. NATHAN MACKINNON - C - HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS (QMJHL) - 5-11, 179 - PR: 2
An explosive skater with high-end offensive skills, MacKinnon has shown potential to be a game-breaking player at the next level. With 60 points in 35 games, he has been making a mockery of his junior competition and should be able to find his way into any NHL lineup next season. His skating is what gives him separation from the rest of the forward pack. | 3. JONATHAN DROUIN - LW - HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS (QMJHL) - 5-11, 176 - PR: 8 |
|
An absolute magician with the puck, Drouin has the skill that will get fans out of their seats. His ability to manufacture offense in a variety of ways has a lot of scouts excited. One NHL scout said he wouldn't be surprised if Drouin leapfrogged MacKinnon because of his ability to do things with the puck that most others can't. |
Odds of the Flyers getting Seth Jones in the NHL Lottery: Finish 30th: 25% Finish 29th: 18.8% Finish 28th: 14.2% Check-out the Lottery history to see the times that teams jumped-up -

Yea, I feel the same way. I understand the percentages, but I also understand our luck. We were 30, and still couldn't win the draft.

I wouldn't be upset to see us get a top 3 pick in the draft. unlike the year we really sucked balls we would get a stud player no matter what this year

The problem is that they aren't that bad of a team....they'll probably finish 20-20-8 & pick around 10 or 11....hopefully Darnell Nurse is there then. Kid is a beast. 6' 5" & a winner...nothing like his uncle McNever

I would be perfectly happy with Nurse, in fact the Flyers should just use their early picks for D.

Would anyone consider moving Timonen and Hartnell at this point? I think you can certainly deal Timonen if he really wants a shot at the Cup. Also, I think that Gagne could get moved as well. Since Boston lost out on Iginla and Morrow, maybe the Bruins or Canadiens would be interested since Briere is concussed.

Let's be honest....any one of these players is tradeable for the right price. i'm not interested in trading Hartnell for a 2nd rounder or a late 1st. I'd want a legit prospect AND a 1st. Same for Kimmo.
For Giroux I want a legit prospect & two 1sts.
