Nice to see two good performances back to back and Giroux is finally starting to awaken from his early season stupor. Plus it's two games in a row with more than 2 goals. Surprise, Surprise, you score goals, you win games. Mason in 13 games has a SV% of .930 and a GAA of 2.15. If he keeps that up and the wins start coming, he could be a Venzina candidate.
I noticed on a box score that Mason was left off as a star of the game thinking it was typo but apparently, he was. Not that it matters but that is pretty lame.
The official three-star selection for the game was a joke. Somehow, Mason got omitted and Ottawa's Clarke MacArthur was picked as the third star. Whether this was just a bizarre pick or something the selector in Ottawa intended as some sort of statement about a Philadelphia writer (the Daily News' Frank Seravalli) picking Ray Emery over Braden Holtby in the Capitals 7-0 win over the Flyers, I have no idea.
