Well, they've had a couple of days of practice on what Berube is trying to do , and Phoenix was playing in Detroit last night, so there is no reason why they shouldn't come out stronger than what I saw in Florida. I would estimate Mason starts tonight based on his performance in Florida.

Speaking of Mason, I don't understand why Flyer fans (outside of this board) and alot of non fans opinion of Mason isn't very high. I know he had a rough ending in Columbus, but he's been everything we've hoped for so far here. He's been consistently solid and at times great. If our D was better, he'd probably be mentioned among the elite. When I hear fans say among our weaknesses that we have no goaltending, it makes me wonder if they have been paying any attention to Mason. Emery is a good backup/spot starter. The man was 17-1 last year for the SC champs. Mason may not be Patrick Roy in his prime, but he's been pretty good. Rather have him than Bryz anyday of the year.

I think that we're all used to supposed "answers in net" that turn out to be bottom of the barrel solutions. So since we've been down that road so many times it's hard to get excited about it when you think it'll be the same ol same ol.
I also think that people see a goalie who started hot in his career & then had some really rough seasons after & they correlate that with guys like Jim Carey & Blaine Lacher.
