And I'm thrilled we get to see what the Chief can do. We know what Murray is.

WOW, didn't think it would happen this early. Got to imagine Homer is on the hot seat too, but they may wait until seasons end to can him. Best of luck to Lavy, thanks for almost winning us a cup, but clearly this team regarded afterwards. Although would have liked to see what Lavy could have done with a healthy Pronger long term, but we'll never know. That injury set us back a great deal. It'll be interesting to see what the Chief can do. It will either light a fire under the teams ass or they will tank hard. That would be my guess.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, John Paddock and former Flyer Ian Laperriere are expected to be named Berube's assistants.

Now if Homer could get whacked and replaced by Hextall, all would be right with the world.

yep, Hextall will be the GM sooner instead of later. love this move, also love the fact Lappy is now an assistant. got 2 really good guys that the club will respond to. going to be interesting to see how this shapes up, especially if it's true that Berube will coach a similar system as to what Carlyle does. a bit puzzling with Paddock coaching the D, thought for sure it would be Murray, just the fact McCarthy is gone is positive, I made it no secret I hated that move from day one.

I also think a trade needs to be made as well here. I'd like to see if they can move a defenseman like Meszaros, and shake the players up a bit. I supported Lavi to an extent but the way the preseason went and to start 0-3 and play shitty is inexcusable. Thanks for 2010 Lavi and the famous time outs, but time to move on. I would have at least given him 5-7 games to see how it went but, the old man has completely lost his patience.

I would have at least given him 5-7 games to see how it went but, the old man has completely lost his patience. The old man has lost his patience, but that same old man pushed Homer to sign Bryz to that ridiculous BS contract that he'll be paying for, for nothing for a long time. The old man needs to butt out of hockey related moves he knows nothing about and leave that up to people who know what they are doing. Although I will say he needs to hire a competent GM because Homer just aint it. Homer had some good moves, but more often then not his moves handicap this team. Homer has no concept of how to manage a salary cap, never has. Too many players end up LITR'd or bought out which is a waste of money. He has signed too many players who are mediocre at best to cap killing contracts with NTC's/NMC's. He wanted to sign Fking Dan Cleary who is way past his prime to a 3 yr 3mil per NTC contract when nobody else wanted him. Are you kidding me? This clown outbids himself every time. On top of that every year we have a roster overhaul. It's like we don't stick to any plan if we even have one at all. Richards/Carter and JVR went on and played better while the guys we got in return weren't as good. He gets players who don't fit the coaches system and yet the coach gets blamed. Ridiculous. Homer is the problem and so is Snider. Although I wonder how much longer Snider is going to be long for this world so might not have to worry about screaming for him to sell the team.

As for Berube, I really don't know how he'll fare. I don't know enough about how he coaches to form an opinion, but figure there might be an uptick in effort considering Lavi got canned and Homer isn't too far behind. Players may now fear for their jobs and try harder than 5-10 mins a game. Berube was a hard nosed player and he's old school, so it should be intersting at least.

Agreed. At the very least, Lavi's firing has gotten their attention & hopefully they'll look at the effort they've given thus far & dig deeper.

Some interesting comments Pierre Lebrun, but it makes sense based on how they were playing.
