10 years ago today I took my son to a Flyers-Leafs playoff game. JR scored twice & Flyers won 4-1. Today is his 20th birthday. Something tells me tonight's game won't be as fun.

Think I'll skip this one. A loss to the senaturds might be more than I can take.

Well, there is an article on CSN Philly, Briere pretty much knows he will be bought out. It will be interesting to see who the other buyout is.
The obvious choice is Bryz, not only because of money, but IMO, his personality certainly does not fit this town or the organization. He is more of a carnival for reporters. Look at the BS right now about how it was reported he fell asleep in a meeting. It's ridiculous that the team needs to sit there an answer questions about that when they are trying to get into the playoffs.
Those two removed give them over $10 million in cap relief.

Look at the BS right now about how it was reported he fell asleep in a meeting. It's ridiculous that the team needs to sit there an answer questions about that when they are trying to get into the playoffs. Those two removed give them over $10 million in cap relief. I didn't know you could buyout two players, I thought it was only one. If that is the case, even better. Briere overall was a good FA signing, has done alot for the Flyers throughout the years, but he is obviously on the downside of his career and is way overpaid. Even Timonen is a candidate, but considering our blueline is thin, he probably stays, plus he still brings alot to the table despite his age and eroding skills, although his erosion isn't nearly as bad as Brieres. Timonen isn't what he used to be, but he isn't a liability like Briere is now. Bryz has to be the #1 candidate to be bought out. Nothing else makes sense. Didn't the team have to sit down with him last year and talk to him about how to conduct himself as a professional player and a player who makes big money playing in Philly and the expectations that come with it? What about that does this jerkoff not get? All I heard all offseason during the lockout and afterwards was about how this piece of shit was a changed player and how he now understood the expectations of playing in Philly. Well apparently not. He doesn't get it. He expects to collect a paycheck (a paycheck that pays him like he's an elite player), play streaky mediocre hockey, have a mercurial attitude and expects the fan base to understand and have patience. BS, you were brought here Bryza-hole to solve our long term goalie problems and to help bring a SC to this city. You were brought here to be our Brodeur. What did you expect when you signed that contract? If you couldn't live up to that, you shouldn't have come here period. Nobody held a gun to your head when you signed. You deserves every bit of flack that comes his way. I never thought I could be so wrong about a player. I saw the numbers he put up in Phoenix. I thought he'd do even better on a better team. I even said that when Phoenix lost in those two first rounds to Detroit that it wasn't his fault, it was that Detroit was just a superior team to Phoenix. Maybe I was fooling myself because then a journeyman named Michael Smith went there for a fraction of the contract Bryzjackov got and he took his team to the WCF almost singlehandedly. The way Michael Smith performed, the way Jonathan Quick performed, that is what we expect from you night in and night out Bryzsuckov. What is worse is that we gave up on a legit #1 in Bobrovsky who is outperforming this idiot by far in CLS. Why? Because this organization is too damn impatient. Everybody wrote Bob off after one season of promise, how did that work out for us? If we wanted a mediocre goaltender manning the pipes night in and night out, we could have just kept Biron around for another 5 years and paid him the peanuts he makes now. The last two years of NHL hockey has left such a sour taste in my mouth. You got last years debacle, you had this BS lockout that was a complete waste of time, completely unnecessary. Then I kept telling myself I would never watch this sport again, then fooled myself into giving it yet another chance it didn't deserve and now I'm subjected to this crap ass season and wondering if this jackass between the pipes will be bought out and where do we go from here. This fanbase deserves better. I will say this again, Homer if Bryz stays, I'm gone as a fan. I will not be fooled again. I will not watch until he's gone after this season. I will devote my time to doing other things. My patience as a fan is running out. Get this jackass off our team and get a real goaltender in here along with a real blueline. Do whatever it takes. If not Ed needs to step in and clear this fking house out, everyone must go. Heads need to roll.

yeah, Bryz and Briere are the 2 guys getting bought out, no question about it. I know I hear some people mention Hartnell as a possibility but the guy will rebound and has not been 100% all season. at this point now guys have to be playing for jobs, there will be changes this offseason. I still think bringing in Emery and having a tandem of him and Mason is the best possible solution for the goaltending. as for D is there even any free agents available that can help improve this mess on the bluline?
new coaching and someone other than McCarthy as an assistant should do wonders for the returning D, I also think Oliver L has what it takes to be on the blueline full time as well. just sad to see this club go through the motions out there but IMO they quit on coach jam a long time ago
