That whole, the coaches/gm's job is safe talk from ownership whenever a team struggles is complete BS. That is usually code for, if these fkers don't get their act together they are gone soon. Just the fact that they are talking about it and responding to it means their jobs are in trouble. I've never heard one time ownership come out and say a coaches/gm's job is on the line when a team is struggling in any pro sports venue, even if everyone knows the obvious. If any ownership is stupid enough to do that, you will see the entire team mail it in and will do so quick. That's just expressing to the world that you have no confidence in what the coach/gm is doing. Yeah maybe ownership doesn't, but that is just something you don't come out and say to the world. I also hope that the ownership hasn't privately expressed that to Homer because I'd hate to have him in desperation mode to save his job because that means pawning off young talent and draft picks for old aging vets and that will destroy our franchise long term. I really don't think we're going to see Homer do that. Other than the kubina trade That's just not His m.o. Maybe, maybe not, but desperation could bring out the worst in people. I've seen it happen with other GM's before.

I have no issue with O'Reilly, but if they're getting Cooter, a prospect (Laughton) AND a 1st we better be getting EJ or Landeskog. This guy isn't that good, sorry.

O'Reilly is a pretty good player, worth Couturier straight up, I wouldn't really be upset by that sort of deal but if the Av's are thinking they are getting picks and prospects they will never deal him. I just don't see the need to trade Couturier, we've come to a point with this franchise where they need to let the young kids develop. Cooter is having a shitty season but I don't see how you would give up on him less than 20 games into a shortened season.

Courturier, Laughton & a 1st is what Ryan is worth

I would still rather keep Cooter. I think he is going to be a really good two way player, and they way he shut down Malkin last year in the playoffs, we're going to need that for a while. The only player I would have traded him for was Weber.

Agreed, but there are players out there I'd trade him for. Weber, Pietrangelo to name two.

I can't remember the last time they did a deal with the Bruins. Maybe Dave Poulin?

I hope to be signed as a free agent this summer. At 8-11 there's really no point in trading assets and picks for him.

O'Reilly will never be dealt in Colorado doesn't lower their trade demands. interesting that the Bruins and Flyers are talking. not sure why the Bruins would want to make any changes on their club they have such a nice mix of young guys and vets.
