Interesting input from Halladay, but I believe this truth. As much as I am grateful for Charlie bringing us a World Series title, it did seem like things were getting laxed each year.
What should be very telling is how Rollins and Sandberg get along because Sandberg has already been on his ass.

Just the fact that he said it tells me it's true.
As much as I like most of these players, I can believe that J Roll (especially), Howard, Utley, Chooch, etc were too comfortable with him here.

I don't think he was horrible, he had the right personnel & the players loved playing for him. However they got way to comfortable & it showed on the field.

Since Sandberg took over: 11-10
Not bad, considering the lineup.
Rest of NL East in that time: Braves 11-12 Mets 8-13 Nats 13-8 Fish 7-14
